Restaurant VRR is located in a historic building from 1895, originally used as a staff canteen and laundry facility by the Dutch Shipbuilding Company.

At VRR, we cook with authentic, flavourful ingredients sourced from local producers who are small enough to make their own choices. Seasonal vegetables come mainly from organic farms in the Beemster, our North Sea fish is supplied by small day boats, and all our meat is sourced exclusively from the Netherlands.

Choose from our changing à la carte dishes or our chef’s menu. Or join us for Dîner de Quartier – our neighbourhood menu. Starter, main course and dessert for €29.50.

Place de l'Apéro Bolomey and VRR bring the French summer to Amsterdam. Team Bolomey pours the wines while chef Sander Overeinder cooks outdoors from the Summer Counter. Drop by - no reservation needed.

On Sunday afternoon, 23 August, Jesse (from ‘Wat Schaft De Podcast’) and Peter (from Jisp) will be cooking in the outdoor kitchen at VRR.

Expect a selection of small dishes inspired by cuisines from around the world, all centred around North Sea fish and prepared using a variety of techniques such as smoking, curing and barbecuing. Think of ‘herring with beetroot & Dutch jenever’, ‘sea bass tiradito with samphire’, and a ‘Brazilian coconut soup with smoked tub gurnard’.

The market is free to visit. Reservations are recommended for dinner.

VRR shares the building with Stadsbakkerij As, an artisan bakery that still bakes according to baker Eef's original recipe for Amsterdam restaurants and locals. The bakery shop offers sourdough and everything that pairs well with bread. Open from Tuesday to Saturday (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
