Restaurant VRR is located in a historic building from 1895, originally used as a staff canteen and laundry facility by the Dutch Shipbuilding Company.

At VRR we cook with authentic flavourful ingredients sourced from local producers small enough to follow their own principles. Seasonal vegetables are mainly organic and come from the Beemster North Sea fish is supplied by small day boats and all our meat is sourced exclusively from the Netherlands.

You may choose from a selection of changing à la carte dishes or our chef’s menu.

Pieter Damen, Alain Caron and Sander Overeinder.
Back in 1989, Sander worked as a trainee chef at the renowned De Kersentuin, under the guidance of Joop Braakhekke and John Sistermans. Pieter and Alain were both his sous-chefs.
Now, 37 years later… Athos, Porthos, Aramis.

On June 14, we will cook together for a 5-course matinee lunch at €67.50, inspired by then and now.

VRR shares the building with Stadsbakkerij As, an artisan bakery that still bakes according to baker Eef's original recipe for Amsterdam restaurants and locals. The bakery shop offers sourdough and everything that pairs well with bread. Open from Tuesday to Saturday (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
